Isn’t that a swanky image? I love armadillos, and this particular little guy by Alexander Vidal (Alexander Santillanes) seems to have somewhere to get to, what with wearing his best traveling cap and all. I found him after coming across the following.
I am collaborating with awesome illustrator Leyton Parker on an illustrated Peter Pan. Each week, one of us illustrates the next chapter. Last week, Leyton did an incredible illustration of Chapter 1 to start us off. Here’s my first contribution, for Chapter 2: The Shadow. Check us out at imaginary things after dark. (source)
I particularly love “The Shadow” illustration because it depicts my favorite character from the Peter Pan book, Nana. In addition to being a talented illustrator and designer, Alexander Vidal "loves india ink, hippopotomai, and dry gin." Now, I myself am not allowed around india ink because I always, always spill it. And yes, I dance like a hippo with leg cramps. However, I admire talent, love even a halfway decent Sloe Gin Fizz and I did smile at this.
As for Leyton Parker, I enjoyed his wonderful portfolio (what a character) and also his Instagram gallery, but what I found particularly pleasing is this page. 1) he has a dachshund. I want a dachshund. 2) he spent childhood days in trees. I spent childhood days in our willow tree, with my comics. 3) he wears a snazzy bow tie. Fellows who wear bow ties are generally super swell. 4) winning smile.
Alexander, Leyton — you two are awesome.
