ProtoHaus is a timber frame house of 125 square feet fabricated primarily from recycled and reclaimed materials and constructed over the summer of 2009. Emphasis was placed on sustainability, functionality, and aesthetics. Transportable, the house is built on a trailer bed rated to withstand 14,000 pounds. Separate fresh, grey, and black water systems are integrated into the design allowing for remote removal and disposal of waste. A solar and wind system power the house allowing it to be off grid.

California Roll prefabricated house takes this methodology to create its morphological adaptation to its environment: desert. Homogeneous exterior material which provides high grade of energy efficiency and reflects heat from the sun covers the entire surface except for glass panels which is electronically controlled to change its transparency. Modularization of every structure members and finish materials are maximized to provide mobilty with rapid assembly and disassembly on site.
